Hi! I'm Patti Roper, photographer and owner for the past 15 years of Wildberry Photography based in Boulder, Colorado. I create family, child and senior portraits, editorial and event photography.
Many moons ago, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in Broadcast Journalism and worked as a video editor for a national PBS show, Hometime. After moving to Boulder, Colorado and becoming a mom, I picked up a still camera and fell in love with the art of photography.
I began working for commercial and wedding photographers in the area. Hasselblad medium format cameras and film were standard at that time and I devoured every workshop I came across including the Hasselblad's Wedding Institute in Tucson, Arizona. I plunged into digital capture when it became available 7 or so years ago. I'm enjoying it much more now that the quality has matched and surpassed that of film. The creative possibilities are endless....
In the beginning, I shot a lot of weddings. Opportunities to create beautiful images occur every moment during a wedding and I delightfully pursued each one. As requests for family, child and senior portraits grew, the number of weddings decreased. Nowadays, most of my time is spent shooting kids of all ages and I've grown very fond of floral portraits! Check them out under the flora tab.
An interesting side note about me is that I'm also a radiologic technologist/mammographer. I love macro or close-up photography. X-rays are the extreme close-up! Being a radiographer and a photographer has wonderful advantages! Each profession benefits the other in various ways.
At the heart of Wildberry Photography is a commitment to promote positive change in the world. I have photographed many non-profit organizations helping to promote their cause and increase awareness. Clients include the Women's Foundation of Minnesota, Boulder Community Foundation, The National Marrow Donor Program, and The Heart Gallery Colorado.
