Hey guys I'm Jay. I am originally from Atlanta, Ga but have lived many places in my 30 years. I am a mostly self-taught photographer. I like to photograph anything and everything, but landscapes are my favorite images to capture. I am a lover of nature and exploration.
I also greatly enjoy architectural photography. It is very challenging yet rewarding to capture light in closed spaces. Each part of the structure has meaning in the eyes of the architect and it is the job of a photographer to capture that meaning and beauty as originally intended. Architectural photography is a bit like puzzle building - the studying angles and shapes, understanding the physics of light, then putting the pieces together to form a meaningful image that captures the original creator's intent.
I have dabbled in all kinds of photography as seen on this website. In addition to landscapes and architectural photography I have experience in Events, Portraits, Weddings, Sports, etc. I am available for any type of job and look forward to hearing from potential clients.
I hope you enjoy my site and please don't hesitate to email or call with questions. I love talking photography!
People often ask what equipment I use, so I'll go ahead and cover that. My primary body is a Canon 5d Mark ii. My very first DSLR, a Canon 20d, is my backup. Lenses include Canon 17-40 F4, Tamron 18-75 F2.8, Canon 50 F1.4, Canon 70-200 F4. For extra reach I use a Canon 1.4X extender. I use pocket wizards for triggering Canon speedlights of which I have two. When a little more power is needed I use a Lumedyne battery pack with two 400ws flash heads. Of course I have an assortment of stands, umbrellas, softboxes, modifiers, etc.
