While I have always had a camera close by and have taken pictures from a very young age, the ART in my photography came at a later stage in life.
After needing to leave a nursing career that was beyond my wildest expectations, there was life needing to be lived.
The canvas was 11 acres of farmland that was wet. We created a stream, planted over 1000 trees and shrubs, planted flower beds, and brought nature back. As I photographed the progress, my camera and I were capturing so much more than trees and flowers. I was slowing down and capturing the texture, color, light, shadows, details...
Our 11 acres has been certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat and a Monarch Way Station. We are trying to be good stewards of this piece of earth that we have the Privilege of living on. The photography and artwork is secondary and a result of this effort.
My main objective by being part of the social network is to share what I see. I hope you really enjoy the journey with me. So not every photo on this website (or Facebook, Twitter, and blog) are print worthy. But many, (well most of them)are. So if you see something that shouts out to you, this is now how I make my income. It always excites me to know one of my pieces is going to a special place.
My ART is also available at Gallery on the Square in Historic downtown Danville, located on the east side of the courthouse square.
