Like many of you I have been capturing snapshots and chronicling family travels since my dad put a camera in my hands when I was ten years old. I was thrilled when my Kodak Brownie was upgraded to an Instamatic!
My hobby became more serious in college while taking extended backpacking trips. I wanted to memorialize our travels along the Wonderland Trail on Mt. Rainier and in the Olympic National Park. This whetted my interest and I took community classes with a staff photographer for the Seattle Times. The canisters of film in my refrigerator were evidence of my growing interest in story telling through pictures.
The switch to digital camera equipment, the birth of online, affordable web-based training and the sudden loss of my job all presented me with the time and resources needed to take this hobby to the next level.
Today, after hundreds of training hours and thousands of digital photos I am happy to provide portrait and event photography services in the Puget Sound area. I have been taking event photos for Our Lady of the Lake parish in Seattle since 2008 and in 2013 accepted a position as parish photographer.
I specialize in editorial style, natural light photography. My favorite photos, when I'm not traveling, are family portraits and the capturing of natural interactions between parents and children of all ages.
