Christopher T. Medak was raised in London, England. His father was a Hungarian refugee who had been a photographer in Budapest -- after his escape in 1956; he pursued his dream of becoming a British film director.
His father inspired Christopher’s passion for photography when he was given his first Nikon at ten years old. As an enthusiastic young photographer, he shot everything that moved. Delighted in watching his images come alive in the dark room, his passion for photography was born.
In 1981 after graduating Stanbridge Earls, he fled Maggie Thatchers England pursuing a career in the film industry where he gained a cinematic style for his photography. Always drawn to black and whites, his subjects are far ranging. From his worldwide travels captured in street portraits, landscapes and smoky burlesque clubs, he is passionate, ceaselessly pursing that one moment that tells it all. The one guiding principal is just that, one picture tells the whole story. Every picture is a book.
His works can be found in private collections, clubs and restaurants in Venice and Santa Monica.
