Welcome to Imageries!
I've loved taking photographs all my life, but never more than when I began photographing animals. My real inspiration to become a professional comes from the volunteer work I do at an animal rescue organization. The shelter is unequivocally the most challenging place for photography - minimal lighting, wiggly subjects, and little critters who have little reason to trust strangers. If these little guys can trust me enough to let me take pictures, then I can surely knock myself out to capture an image that will help them find their forever, loving homes. I hear their stories, I fall in love with each and every one, and this is my way of giving them a chance to find the love they deserve.
Aside from volunteering at the animal rescue, I find photographing horses an intensely exciting and rewarding job. I enjoy every aspect of equine photography, from portrait work to events. The opportunity to photograph Grand Prix jumpers is my own special favorite. I love to jump my own horses, and with each photograph I vicariously experience the thrill of what it must feel like to perform as they do ~ to me, it's just pure magic.
While it sounds cliche, the passion of photography is about seeing something worth remembering ~ emotions - the highs and the lows, the subtle to the sublime. I love spontaneity, catching people and animals when they're completely unaware. Natural light is always a first choice, although I've worked in all kinds of less than ideal lighting situations if the opportunity presents.
I know that I am incredibly lucky to do what I do, and share it with you! I hope the enjoyment is mutual.
