i am a self trained, award-winning photographer who lives happily in princeville with my wife (naomi) and our three cats (jazz, yogi, and tao). i chose my photography name, 光ls, from my favorite japanese character, 光, and my initials-- l and s. 光 is pronounced hikari and translates into english as light. hikari represents the energy, creativity and dynamic flow of the universe.
my photography expresses this energy and movement, along with the interplay of light and colors to communicate the essence, the source and the beauty in nature and to beauty that is in all of us.
while on kauai, i encourage you to visit my gallery, light source, at 4-1621 kuhio highway, kapa'a. you can find me inside the yellow plantation house at the kauai products fair, right across from the ocean on kauai's breezy east shore-- about 30 minutes from princeville and 20 minutes from the airport in lihue. i'd love for you to see my most recent images in stunning, limited edition metal prints. naomi also has a corner featuring her handmade yoga mat bags, organic lavender-flax seed eye pillows, and shell jewelry.
mahalo for visiting, and i hope you enjoy the photos.
see you soon.
