Photography is a unique medium - it freezes a moment in time as viewed by one person, through one lens. My approach to photography is simple: capture not only the image of what is in front of me, but to convey the entire story behind that image and evoke the sights, sounds and emotion present into a single frame. Whether it is an engagement photo, senior picture, little league baseball team photo, reunions, or snapshots in the backyard: photography captures a moment in time that can never be repeated.
I chose photography because it is real. It captures an actual representation of something that really happened at some point in time. My work tends to be straight forward, unscripted or set-up in advance, and is derived from observations, juxtapositions as they present themselves, or made up of small sections of a larger composition. While this unplanned approach may seem random – it is really part of a larger theme: a photograph is only a representation of very brief moment in time and it is what you do with your moments that can make a difference. Continuing, some photographs can inspire, some shock, some are historic, and some are simply meant to be enjoyed. One thing all photographs do: they cause us to pause, and remind us that those very small moments in time can be the most important.
Photography is a passion. I love to keep up with the latest trends & new equipment and I continue to learn by studying with nationally known photographers. In the end, my goal is to always provide photographs and an experience that can be cherished for years to come.
