Do I have to pay to search for a photographer?

Photographer Central is and will remain a free service for all of our users searching for photographers. You’ll never be asked to pay any fees to search the site or reach out to photographers.

What if I can't find what I'm looking for?

We’re always working on making sure we have photographers from all genres and styles to suit your needs. If you’re not getting exactly what you’re looking for, try searching with different keywords. You can also use the secondary filters – style, price, and distance – to get more specific search results.

How do I find a photographer’s profile?

From the homepage, enter keywords to describe the type of photographer you’re looking for (wedding, portrait, commercial, etc.) and your location. After hitting search, you’ll get a list of photographers within 20 miles of your specified location who fit your search criteria.

From the search results page, you can click through to the photographer’s profile to find contact information, pricing, samples of their work, and more.

How can I narrow down my search results?

In addition to keywords and location, you can further filter your search results using a couple of different options:

  • Select one or more styles (photojournalistic, romantic, etc.)
  • Specify your exact price range
  • Indicate how far away a photographer can be located

You can also adjust the sorting of your search results to ensure that your list of recommended photographers is sorted by the criteria that is most important to you.

Can I recommend a photographer to a friend?

Of course! If you happen to find a photographer who you think would be great for someone you know, use any of the social sharing buttons on the photographer’s profile to share with your networks.

You can also fill out an endorsement for a photographer to share your great experiences with them. Just ask the photographer to send you the endorsement invitation.

Why do I want to be listed on Photographer Central?

Whether you have decades of experience or you’re just starting out as a photographer, we want to make it easier to find the clients out there who are looking for your exact set of skills.

Photographer Central is the hub for professional photographers of all genres to showcase their work in a visually captivating way and to reach potential clients. After setting up your profile, you’ll also have access to traffic-monitoring tools to see how much activity your page is getting. Altogether, this will become another effective way to generate more business without requiring much of your time and energy.

Does Photographer Central require an application process to be listed?

There is no application process to be listed on Photographer Central. Your work should speak for itself, and users should be able to choose from the widest variety of photographers that they have access to. We do, however, offer our users the ability to “report” you if they find that your listing is not an accurate representation of your services.

How are search results organized? Do I need to pay more to show up higher on the page?

Initial search results will always be randomized. Users do have the option to sort the results by price, distance, or number of recommendations a photographer has on their profile after seeing the first randomized results page. Aside from those, the results will appear in a random order each time. Every photographer listed on Photographer Central pays the same fee for each listing. It is not an option to pay more for preferred placement.

Can I list in more than one location/city?

Of course. In addition to checking off the “Willing to Travel” option, you can also list your services in more than one city. Simply purchase a multiple-listing package, and create up to five separate listings with each multipack.

I work in many genres of photography. Can I have a separate listing for each?

Yes. If you work in more than one genre and want to showcase different portfolios of work, you can (and we recommend you do) set up a separate listing for each one. You can do this by purchasing a multiple-listing package and using each listing to display a specific genre of work.

Does Photographer Central take a commission?

No, never. There is an annual subscription fee to maintain an active listing on the site, but that fee remains the same regardless of how many new clients you find or how many new jobs you book.

Can I get a refund if I want to take down my listing?

Send us an email at support (at) photographercentral (dot) com with the subject line “Refund Request” and a message explaining why you’d like to deactivate your profile. We’ll respond as quickly as we can to all requests.
